The August 2008 Newsletter has been posted on this web-site. Click on "Current Newsletter" in the column on the left for the newsletter. The Newsletter no longer contains the Spread Sheets. The Spread Sheets for the Year-End Tournaments are fournd by clicking on "Fishing Report" then click on the enclosures. The In-Club Tournament Results are also under "Fishing Report ". The "Young Anglers Tournament" results have been corrected and updated.

NOTE: There are 2 new items in the column at the left "Fish Entry Card Preparation" which explains how to prepare the form and the responsibilities of the angler and "ACGFA Fish Info" which is a spread sheet that contains a picture of the fish, the ACGFA Category, Fed & State Regulations, ACGFA Minimum Weight, and which ACGFA Tournament Categories it counts. I hope these will help you when you prepare your Fish Entry Cards. More on that later. - Jim

Our Next Meeting: The next meeting will be Saturday, September 20th at the St Augustine Shrine Club, 250 1st St.  This will be the B.S. Open Tournament and Club Fish Fry. The weigh-in is from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm followed by a fish fry, awards and raffle beginning at 6:00 pm.  It looks like a lot of fun with great prizes.  It is meant to show our appreciation to the many Bait Shops that support our club by weighing our fish.  Please help by entering or helping work the tournament.  Our meetings are normally on the 3rd Tuesday of each month unless notified otherwise.  The Shriners have a very nice facility overlooking Moultrie Creek.  They have adequate parking across from the building.  Social 6:30 -  Meeting 7:30.

The ACGFA 2008 Calendar of Events is now posted. Click on "Upcoming Events" in the column on the left.

July Angler-of-the-Month – Brain Sousa, Jr:   There were 49 entry cards from 17 anglers this month. Congratulations to Angler-of-the-Month Steven Blalock . Steven caught 2 Black Sea Bass 1.5 & 1.44 Lbs (1st Place Juniors and Largest of Month) and (3rd Place Juniors and 2nd Largest of Month), 4.81 & 4.63 lb Red Snapper (2nd and 3rd Place Juniors and 2nd Largest of Month), and a 1.06 lb Snapper (other)(2nd Largest of Month) for a total of 525 points. Great job Steven. Cut-off was March 25th thru April 28th. Remember, Angler-of-the-Month is awarded 100 bonus points which count toward the Angler-of-the-Year.  Please remember to complete all spaces on the entry form and mail it not more than seven (7) days after the catch.

IMPORTANT - Make sure you MAIL your cards not later than 7 days after the fish is caught and that the fish meets the club minimum weight requirement. Minimum weights are listed on the Year-End Board. Unfortunately, there were several that did not meet these requirements. Also, if there is not a BOAT NAME entered on the card, I must assume you are fishing from shore, pier, or with a non-member. N/A will be entered for the boat name.
See Fishing Report for more info.

The year-end tournament is
May 1st thru April 30th each year.
Fishing Rules for 2008/2009 are posted on "08-09 Fishing Rules" link above in the left column.
