So what is the ACGFA?
The Ancient City Game Fish Association (ACGFA) was
organized in 1958. We currently have approximately 70 Family Members, 30 Single Members,
and 7 Lifetime Members. Our membership year is from June 1st to May 30th.
Dues are $50 for a Family Membership and $30 for a Single Individual
Membership. For new members only, dues are ½ price from December 1st
to May 30th.
The
purposes of this organization are to promote the sport of fishing in this
area and do whatever is in our power to improve fishing grounds and facilities
in the area. The ACGFA is very family oriented. We have annual fishing awards
for Boats-of-the-Year (inshore and offshore) and Anglers-of-the-Year (Men,
Women, Junior (age 8 to 16) and Small-fry (7 and under). In addition, there
are fishing tournaments for various species almost every month as well as
two fish fry/cook-out events, a Christmas Party for the family, and the End
of Year Awards/Membership Dinner..
Our meetings are conducted at the St. Augustine Shrine
Club, 250 1st Street, St. Augustine, Florida. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m.
with a social hour and the general meeting starts at 7:30. We usually have
snacks and a speaker. Guests are welcome.
