Our Next Meeting is Tuesday, January 16th at the St. Augustine Shrine Club, 250 1st St.  Directions follow.  The Shriners meeting night is the 2nd Tuesday of the month, therefore, our meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday.  They have a very nice facility overlooking Moultrie Creek.  They have adequate parking across from the building and operate a bar for us with donations for Drinks @ $3.00 and Beer @ $2.00.  Social is at 6:30, meeting at 7.30


 

Raffle:  Due to the “Basket of Cheer” and Santa, there was no raffle last month.  Watch for next month’s raffle, .  Dave Russell and Bob Swann say they will start the new year out right.  This will be a great raffle.

 

Membership Drawing:  At the Christmas Party, the $300 winner was Jimmy Tedder.  Again there were several names drawn that were not there.  It pays to attend the meetings and parties.  Be at the next meeting for the $100 drawing.  You must be present to win!

 

Snacks:  Joel & Carmel Cunningham will provide the snacks at this month’s meeting.

 

Membership Information:  NOTICE: Membership year is June 1st thru May 31st.  Dues are $50.00 for a family and $30.00 for individual memberships. After December 1st, new members can join for the remainder of the year for ˝ price. Membership forms are also available on the web site (acgfa.com).  Guests are always welcome.

 

2007 Club Activities Calendar: Copy attached. The next Board Meeting will be Thursday, January 25th starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Salt Run Community Center (the old Lighthouse Restaurant in Lighthouse Park).  All Board and Committee Meetings are open to our membership.  Your support is welcomed.

 

Fishing Information

 

Kingfish Challenge, July 6 thru 8, 2007:  The tournament committee has kicked off the Kingfish Challenge Tournament sponsorship sales.  This is the major fund raiser for the club.  The tournament information is available on the web site (acgfa.com). 

 

December Angler-of-the-Month:   There were 14 entry cards from 8 anglers this month. Congratulations again to Angler-of-the-Month Bob Swann. This is his second Angle-of-the-Month Award this year.  Bob caught 8.19 lb and 8.00 lb Red Snappers (1st & 2nd  Place Mens and 1st & 2nd Largest of Month) for a total of 350 points. Great job Bob.  Complete results are enclosed. Cut-off was November 30th thru December 30th.

 

Spring Kickoff Tournament: The Spring Kickoff Tournament starts February 1st and ends March 31st.  This is an inshore tournament for Redfish, Flounder, Trout (closed February 1st thru 28th), Drum (Pompey and Black), Sheepshead, Pompano, and Whiting.  This is a points tournament and a total of  $600 will be awarded to the 1st ($300), 2nd ($200), and 3rd ($100) place top anglers.  Entry is $10 per adult angler and $5 for junior and small-fries.  Each entry card must be plainly marked for the “Spring Kickoff” or it will not count for the tournament.  Complete rules are enclosed.

 

In-Club Tournament Director:  Our thanks go to Wlilliam (Will) Jackson who has volunteered to be the In-Club Tournament Director.  Give Will your suggestions for in-club tournament improvements .

It’s an exciting time of year.  Before leaping forward – stop – and give your family members a hug.  Our hearts go out to the families that lost loved ones last year.

SALES CHAIRPERSON:  T-shirt sales: Looking for two very personable, friendly, sales oriented people. Maybe a couple, work as chair and co-chair. Work together as a team to sell t-shirts and other merchandise at membership meetings and other club functions. Involves moving and storing merchandise between meetings. Being accountable for money and merchandise, make recommendations for orders. NEED IMMEDIATELY!

 

CLUB REPORTER:   Media promotions Publicity Chairperson: Involves working with local news papers and other media providing monthly club news, web site articles and special program information. Make sure all monthly meetings are listed in The Record prior to that meeting.
