In-Club Kingfish Shootout – 2010

FISHING:  This tournament is an ACGFA “members only” tournament.  Entrants must be ACGFA members in good standing.  This tournament is a Boat Tournament.  Anglers are fishing as a crew for the boat.  This is a one-day shootout.  Anglers must fish in local waters.  Federal, State, and/or County fishing laws and regulations always apply.

 

SAFETY:  SAFETY IS ALWAYS FIRST.  Safety is of paramount importance.  Captains are responsible for the safe and legal operation of their boats at all times.

 

QUALIFYING FISH:  Fish eligible for this tournament are King Mackerel (Kingfish).  Fish must be caught on hook and line, and landed in whole condition.  Fish must be of legal length, bag and possession limits.  Weighing in of a fish that are not within legal limits will result in disqualification from the tournament.  Mutilated fish will not be weighed.

 

COMMITTEE BOATS:  The tournament chairman will assign certain boats fishing the tournament to act as committee boats.  These boats will monitor everyone fishing the tournament for safety purposes and act as points of contact.

 

RADIO:  Committee Boats will monitor VHF radio channel 72 for this tournament.  Captains are reminded that they must checkout and check-in.  Check out and check in by VHF radio, channel 72.  Check out time is from 6:00 AM, and check in is 4:00 PM.  All boats fishing the tournament must checkout and check-in with an ACGFA committee boat.

 

WEIGH IN:  Weigh in will be at the Marlin Club scales.  Weigh in time is from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. You must be inside Camachee Cove at the weigh scale at 4:00 pm for your fish to count.   Only one (1) Kingfish per boat will be weighed for the tournament. Additional Kingfish and other species may be weighed for in-club tournaments. The weigh station will fill out ACGFA weigh in cards for each fish weighed.

 

AWARDS:  The prize structure for this tournament is: First place fish - $300; Second place fish - $200; and the Third place fish - $100.  The top three angler’s awards will be presented at the August General Membership Meeting.

 

PROTESTS: The Tournament Chairman will settle any protest.  The Tournament Chair’s decision is final.

 

ENTRY FEE:  Entry fee is free.  There is a 10-boat minimum for this tournament.
